Thomas Venker

Thomas Venker is co-publisher and co-editor-in-chief of Kaput magazine for insolvency & pop and co-curator of the concert series "Köln ist kaput" & "Talking Kaput" - Kaput has been awarded the Rocco Clein Prize for Best Music Magazine (2015), the prize of the Verband Unabhängiger Tonträgerhersteller VUT for "best experiment" (2016) and three times in 2018, 2019 and 2020 for contributions by the author: inside with an Anchor, the music journalism award of the Hamburg Reeperbahnfestival.
Before founding Kaput in 2014, he was editor-in-chief of Intro Magazine for 14 years, Germany's highest-circulation magazine at the time (with 150,000 magazines in print) - in 2008, Intro received the Grimme Online Award for its (then) groundbreaking online presence.
Currently he is also a member of the editorial team of Chart - Notes to consider magazine, writes regularly for a portfolio of magazines and daily newspapers, moderates panels and symposia.
