Rainer Schmidt is co-founder and editor in charge of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Quarterly, the quarterly future magazine of the F.A.Z., based in Berlin. Previously, he was editor-in-chief of Rolling Stone, a member of the editorial boards of Vanity Fair, Max and ZEITmagazin, as well as a reporter at SPIEGEL-Reporter and several years as an editor in London at the BBC World Service. Schmidt studied economics in Bonn, Göttingen and Vadodara (India) and journalism in London. He is the author of several novels and a non-fiction book.
