Christine Thürmer

Long Distance Hiker
When Christine Thürmer was born in 1967 in Forchheim, nothing indicated that she would one day become the most-hiked woman in the world. Always a loser in sports, she first made a career as a manager after her studies, before starting her first long-distance hike in 2004 after an involuntary career break. There she was given the trail name "German Tourist". In 2007 she finally quit her job and has since covered 47,000 kilometres on foot, 30,000 kilometres by bicycle and 6500 kilometres by boat.

Her two bestsellers "Laufen. Essen. Schlafen" and "Wandern. Radeln. Paddeln." have sold over 110,000 copies in German-speaking countries alone.
