She studied acting at Schauspielschule Charlottenburg Berlin, followed by cultural studies and Spanish (B.A.) at the University of Potsdam and Arts and Media (M.A.) at the University of Hildesheim. For her Master's project, Annika made a documentary film about the increasing commercialization of surfing and sexism in surf culture: "Set up to Sell – Surfing as a Lifestyle Product." Additionally, Annika has practiced yoga for over ten years and decided to formalize her experience with a yoga teacher training in Goa, where she received a 200RYT certificate.
She is part of Velwet, a female surf collective, that is based on creativity, a deep friendship, and passion for surfing. Whenever Berlin gets too busy, you can find Annika in Portugal, where she spends spring and fall.
