Discovering a new place means understanding its history, its culture and above all its people. At Berlin Travel Night #09, Reisedepeschen’s speakers Lennart Adam and Reisedepeschen’s Jennifer McCann will tell us about the new acquaintances and friends they’ve made abroad, the joy of shared moments, and inspiring insights into other lives.
The Student Hotel - Berlin
Once the only way for many people to travel, today hiking is much more than just a mode of transportation. By exploring on foot, the journey becomes just as important as the destination. As part of the Berlin Travel Night #08, the two authors Tim Voors and Barbara Schaefer take us with them on their hikes along the west coast of the USA or across the Alps to Italy and share their stories of departure, adventure and traveling alone.

At ITB Berlin works a clique of true travelholics and we very much love what they do. For this reason we decided to celebrate our next Berlin Travel Night #07 at these guys party. On screen you’ll see plenty of adventures from impressive destinations and hidden gems as well as moving travel stories, which really get underneath your skin. Let’s get carried away by real travel stories!
On the upcoming Berlin Travel Night #06, everything will revolve around the topic of summer in Berlin and Brandenburg. Our speakers will take you on a journey through our local flora and fauna. Manuel Larbig, biologist and survival trainer, will be your guide on a wild herb discovery tour. Doro Böttcher, author of “Berlin mit Kind,” will set sail on a houseboat tour through Brandenburg with a detour to a secret island. Sina Schwarz & Theresa Wißmann, from Milch & Moos, will present their new book and cross the Berlin countryside on foot in search of culinary treasures.
Syria, Iraq, the Caucasus: For many of us, these areas immediately call to mind political tensions. Berlin Travel Night #05 has invited three speakers to leave the politics behind and share their journeys through these countries – the people they’ve encountered, the cultures they experienced, and, most of all, the lasting impressions they’ve brought home. Join us for an evening celebrating stories and discoveries from the East – Near and Far.
GENERATOR BERLIN MITTE
This month’s edition will welcome extreme adventurer and expedition guide Ashly Fusiarski. We will also be joined by both founders of Nectar & Pulse, the editors behind the new “Glücklich in …” travel guides from Süddeutsche Zeitung Edition. They will introduce their new travel guides and tell their stories and places of their Icelandic journeys.
Celebrating the bi-annual European Month of Photography and the first Berlin Photo Week, the event will feature the shortlist of works from the EyeEm Photography Awards. We also have tea and travel lover Michael Pieracci with us. His passion and curiosity resulted in extensive travels through the Darjeeling region of India where he researched tea culture, heritage, and cultivation.
We’re welcoming award-winning journalist Kash Bhattacharya, aka BudgetTraveller.org, to the stage for the first Berlin Travel Night. In collaboration with Gestalten Verlag he’ll present his new book The Grand Hostels: Luxury Hostels of the World along with insider tips on globetrotting on a budget. (In English.)
We’re also pleased to welcome Franziska and Julius Eggert of stadtlandboard.wordpress.com. They’ll be sharing travel hacks from their 327-day around-the-world journey. (In German.)
